When I Take My Sugar To TEA… [Update at 1341]

03 March 2010 @ 12:13

…All the Libs are jealous of me.

So a Progressive activist, with enthusiastic encouragement from her friends and associates, has created the Coffee Party Movement to not necessarily oppose the TEA Party Movement, but offer ‘a different model of civic participation’  And this ‘different model’, according to independent founder Annabel Park, may show that both Movements ‘in the end…may want some of the same things.’  Sounds as spontaneous as the origins of the TEA Party Movement, eh?

Not quite [Come on!…we’re taking Bolshes here, after all].

William Jacobson, over at Legal Insurrection, and the Left Coast Rebel have been looking into Mzz. Park’s past and current associations and connections and have found she is not at all the concerned citizen she claims to be [Nooooo!….really!].

A highlight from Professor Jacobson’s investigation:

In fact, a simple internet search (which the NY Times apparently is not capable of doing) reveals that Park organized the Coffee Party for the specific purpose of undermining the Tea Party movement.

Park is a former Strategy Analyst [Park’s Linked In page has been taken down, here is a cached link] at the NY Times who was one of organizers and operators of the United for Obama video channel at YouTube….

A highlight from LCR’s probing:

Jacobson broke Annabel’s association with United for Obama, but there are far more. According to the Washington Post in 2008, she started by campaigning for Democrat Senator James Webb in 2006. Since then, she has been associated with a large number of leftist groups including, Asian Pacific Americans for Progress, Asian Americans for Obama, and she started the 121 Coalition. If you include her friend Eric Byler, co-director with Annabel of “9500 Liberty” a Michael Moore-esk liberal documentary, you can add in APA Five and Asian-Nation.org. Eric Byler also did the filming for the Coffee Party’s homepage video. Both Annabel and Eric recently did a workshop for the APA Five on community activism. Perhaps, there was something already in the works?

Please do take the time to read both of their postings — there’s much more to this than the quotes indicate.

Dan Riehl has more info here.

Donald Douglas has more here.

Memeorandum threads here, here, and here.

So the Coffee Party Movement, I think I can say without fear of well-reasoned contradiction, is nothing more than, as The Lonely Conservative calls it, ‘Caffeinated Astroturf’.

Annabel Park, Parasite

Big tip of the fedora to Stacy McCain for turning me on to this chicanery.  He labels Annabel Park a ‘parasite’ and that inspired me to run a Google Image Search for ‘Annabel Park parasite’, which, in turn, came up with the picture over to the right.

UPDATE at 1341…

-Smitty brewed up this strong commentary

…It rather makes sense that the slack-jawed left would complement the Tea Party through emulation. They, like Imperial Japan, have every reason to wet themselves with dread at the thought of the sleeping giant that has awakened, after a century of political slumber, to the Progressive threat.

Bring it on, all y’all crypto-Marxist mike foxtrots: We The People shall grind you and your morally bankrupt ideology right down.

If those on the right are the Teabaggers, then surely we can dub the mentally roasted members of the Coffee party “the Beaners”, can we not?

If you look in the comments section of his posting, you’ll see that some folks think it not right that he’s using the derogatory term for Mexican illegal aliens.  Just from an aesthetic viewpoint, I don’t like the term ‘beaner’.

In Comment #12 RickS suggests ‘coffeebaggers‘ which is putting you arse in the face of a laid-out victim.  Decent, but not as derogatory as ‘teabagger’.

-Paco, not surprisingly, saves the day

How about “kopi-luwackies”?

Kopi Luwak the most expensive coffee in the world does exist, and those who drink the expensive coffee insist that it is made from coffee beans eaten, partly digested and then excreted by the Common palm civet, a weasel-like animal.

Perfect. Liberal activists are typically weasels, and they’ll swallow anything as long as the price-tag is big enough.

It’s so spot-on, even though it doesn’t roll off the old tongue.  One of his commentators suggested ‘civertarians’.

Thanks for the link. I opened my local paper this morning and they have a nice little puff piece about the Caffeinated AstroTurfer. No mention of the AstroTurf, of course.
