At The Precipice

18 March 2010 @ 21:13

The Congress and the Executive, it seems, are determined to socialize the American health care system via decree in violation of The Constitution Of The United States.  This abuse and usurpation of The Constitution is just the latest in a serial set of abuses and usurpations of that governing document since 20 January 2009.  Americans For Prosperity has come up with a good graphic that shows some of the most egregious ones [tip of the fedora to Smitty who got it from Moonbattery]:

There are many more, too numerous to list here.

The Leftists who are in control in both branches are staging a silent coup d’état — what Victor Davis Hanson is calling a ‘a quiet but insidious revolution’.  Without resorting to guns and physical force, they have been systematically converting the national government from a constitutional republic into a non-representative government.

If they achieve their goal this Sunday and President Barack Hussein Obama signs the bill, the Congress and the Executive will have violated their oaths of office and will have delegitimized their authority over us.  The Declaration Of Independence reads, in part:

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

If the bill is signed, having been placed on the President’s desk via an unconstitutional maneuver, the Legislative and Executive branches will, from that moment forward, no longer be the legitimate representatives of we the people, who are the sovereignty, the source of emanation of all power in this country and from whom the government  of the United States Of America derives it’s just power by which it make legitimately govern.

At that point, we are no longer under any obligation to recognize their authority.  Any of the ‘laws’ and regulations or Executive Orders they promulgate have no standing.

I am not advocating, at this point, that we take up arms and force the Leftists and their minions and useful idiots out of Washington.  I do not believe we have reached that point yet.  I am merely stating the fact that we are free, at that point, to disobey any of the ‘laws’ and regulations and Executive Orders they have issued or will issue with a clear conscience.

-Victor Davis Hanson has an interesting take on all that’s been happening since November of 2008.  I don’t agree with some of it or his conclusion, but it is a thought-provoking must-read.

-I discovered VDH’s essay via The Classic Liberal’s latest Right Wing Links posting, which, as always, is a damn fine aggregation topped by a layer of wonderful quotes from great thinkers.

Obama is the Usurper-in-Chief. And the Congresscriminals are helping him to thrust tyranny upon us. Obama is a tyrant that must be impeached.

We have to try. It is our moral duty and the honorable thing to do. Chances are we will lose – the forces of history are allied in an axis of evil against us, but America has always been about surprising the world.
