Notes From The Campaign Trail: 29 October 2010 A.D. [Updated Below]

29 October 2010 @ 10:59

Countdown: Four days from today is D-Day.

-Little Miss Attila is dead, solid, perfect on Gawker’s sleazy attack against Christine O’Donnell.

-Michelle Malkin has everything you would ever need to know about the piggish personalities behind Gawker [and the companies that sponsor the site].  A highlight [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum]:

In 2008, it was lying Gawker that published Sarah Palin’s hacked private e-mails, raided her family’s private photos, stolen from the e-mail account, used Bristol Palin’s illegally obtained private cell phone number from her mom’s private account, recorded her voice mail message and posted it on their website, and reprinted her husband Todd’s private e-mail address and son Track’s private e-mail address.

-Smitty does his usual bang-up job in reviewing and analyzing some of the Democratic attack ads in the Virginia Congressional races.  At the end, he advises:

If nothing else, at least consider investing the time to fisk the attack ads in your state. California and Texas bloggers can carve things as they see fit. When you look at a cross section of ads, you realize that they are simply vague emotional plays. Maybe they affect elections through sheer volume. Hopefully the effort of reading blogs and going to Tea Parties has inoculated voters against such silliness. Such won’t get far with conservatives, anyway; it’s the Independents that are going to be the main area for inroads for Tuesday.

In a related posting, Smitty posts videos of Republican Patrick Murray’s [VA-08] appearances on Fox this morning.

-FEAR AND LOATHING 2010: Stacy McCain’s on the road again and has filed a report over at The American Spectator from his first stop in Virginia.  That report also contains information on another Democratic sleaze tactic:

Yet the Democrats have other tricks up their sleeves this year. In many close races, third-party “independent” candidates appear to be running primarily as spoilers against Republicans, hoping to drain off enough anti-incumbent votes to enable Democrats to survive by narrow margins. In Nevada, for example, Scott Ashjian’s is running as the “Tea Party” candidate for Harry Reid’s Senate seat, although actual Tea Party activists there have denounced Ashjian as a phony, and Republicans suspect the Ashjian campaign is actually a Reid stalking horse. In other races, as Politico reported this week, Democrats appear to be “attacking” minor third-party candidates as a way to draw away conservative voters from the Republican challenger.

This is an old, venerable way of doing things…if you have no morals.

-Updates more than likely to follow later today.

UPDATE at 1935…

-Jim Hoft has the latest on the massive voter fraud that’s been uncovered in Arizona.  A highlight:

The Arizona Republican Party has uncovered direct evidence that Mi Familia Vota, Border Action, and Faith.Hope.Vote! who have direct ties to SEIU are attempting to influence the elections in Yuma County through fraudulent means. In the last 48 hours before the Permanent Early Voter List (PEVL) registration deadline of Friday, October 22nd, these organizations submitted 1,328 PEVL requests and then pressured the Yuma Recorder’s Office to process them by Monday.

In reviewing all PEVL requests made through what appears to be canvassing efforts by Mi Familia Vota and submitted on Friday, October 22nd, 113 of the 615 PEVL requests processed and mailed early ballots appear to be forged….

-He also reports on the fact that the NFL PAC donated the maximum allowable money to Harry ‘The School Marm’ Reid.  Perhaps you football fans should let them know how you feel about that?  The rank stupidity of big businessmen never ceases to amaze me.

-Over at Conservatives For America, the Reaganite Republican has set up the Hope-N-Change Death Watch [and linked TCOTS — thanks, RR].

-To lighten our mood a bit as we get ready to face some Bolshe thuggery and thieving, Vicki, over at the Frugal Cafe, has a whole bunch of darkly humorous political cartoons.  As the author of the ‘Wolverines Riot Act’ letter to the GOP [aka: The Stupid Party], I’m particularly fond of this one:

-This one really lifted my morale and my mood: check out DaTechguy’s report on how blogger’s, led by Dan Riehl, have caused Lisa ‘The Loosza’ Murkowski a major league migraine — Lisa: You’ve Been Served!

-William Jacobson has the latest on the race in Rhode Island for the open seat being vacated by Patrick ‘Patches’ Kennedy.

-In her Friday Free-For-All, Nice Deb has the proof that the Communist Party USA is supporting Democratic Candidates.  That post also contains a lot of good links to Election-related news and analysis.  Great job, Deb.

-Over at The Pirate’s Cove, William Teach has the 411 on the contrast between GOP and Democratic-Socialist ad themes this year.

-FEAR AND LOATHING 2010: Stacy McCain is still in Virgina and has filed a report on his activities.  Also, he’s weighed-in on the whole Gawker affair.  A highlight:

…I just wanted to get something online to let readers know I’m alive and well and disgusted by Gawker.

Seriously: That Philly punk complained that “the waxing trend had completely passed her by,” which he says caused him to lose interest. Is this porn-inspired trend toward the deforestation of the pubic delta* now so ubiquitous that young guys no longer find normal women attractive? Well, never mind Dustin Dominiak – although a Kentucky-style stomping would probably do him good, and I sincerely hope the backlash will result in Chris Coons getting stomped Tuesday. (New Christine O’Donnell slogan: “Vote for bush!” )

GET IN THE BUSHES!
VOTE CHRISTINE O’DONNELL!
