Bob’s Musings: Gift Of The Maji-ority, Grit, Taking ‘E’, I Laffered, The Redoubt

Bob's Muse

-This thought occurred to me last week and I would bet it’s not original: Nancy Pelosi — The Gift That Keeps On Giving.

-I was just reading Lisa Fabrizio’s musings on the fact that a new movie version of True Grit has been shot.  It’s well-worth a read.  This paragraph sent Ol’Bob a-musing:

Modern movie-goers who only know the Duke from watching a few of the 200 or so movies he left behind have missed out on what made him so beloved by most of the country: his innate goodness and sense of fair play; the embodiment of all that was America. He was also handsome in a way that stands in glorious counterpoint to the weepy, navel-gazing adolescents that are said to appeal to women today. Wayne as a young man, fresh off the USC playing fields was lean, lank and sported the kind of gaze that would later be labeled “bedroom eyes.”

‘Weepy, navel-gazing adolescents’ is spot-on.  How many male stars of today can truly be described as manly?  How many would you hold up to a young boy as an example of what he could be and should be?  Now, I think Russell Crowe is our best living actor, and he is manly in many ways, but his juvenile behavior off the screen makes him qualified to be the poster boy for this age’s fad for perpetual adolescence.  As for the women who find beta males attractive, I suspect that it is only the Feminists who possess some level of hatred for men along with the Feminists’s unthinking followers who have never made the effort to question the sour bromides of Feminism, who champion and encourage men to be the nervine nancy-boys they are in this day and age.  Christ, they even talk like women, albeit at an octave or two lower [sometimes].  As for today’s beta men and their ‘bedroom eyes’, it’s more like ‘bedroom-bitch eyes’ [Oooo, please comfort me; I’m so sensitive].  It’s at times like these, when I think of these things, that I feel like saying to our enemies ‘Come on in!…it’s all gone to Hell anyway…step right this way…we give up’.

-How come every time I watch E Network, I think of the End Of Days?

-Dave C, proprietor of At The Point Of A Gun, thinks that those of you folks who voted for Bristol Palin on Dancing With The Stars helped, ultimately, to stimulate the economy.  It’s an interesting theory and, to throw you a curve, may end up making Dave the Arthur Laughter of the VRWC.

-I’ve had a lot of time on my hands over the past week and part of that time I’ve spent reflecting on the state of what I like to call The Present Crisis.  That term is a shorthand for The Present Crisis In The West — the moral, cultural, social, and political difficulties we in Christendom find ourselves in.  I hope to be expanding on this idea in the future, but I’ve been saying and writing that for some four years now.  Anyway…

If you’re a regular reader of TCOTS, you may have noticed that, when I write of The Present Crisis, I refer to America more than I do The West these days.  This fact struck me recently and I think my ruminations over the past number of days have led me to understand why: Western Civilization is pretty much terminally ill in every area of The West except for America and a few pockets of The Anglosphere and in some of the former Iron Curtin countries.  I’ve, it seems, given up on the rest.  Perhaps it is my pessimistic nature, but I have come to believe that Jean Raspail was right when he speculated in the 1970’s that The West was exhausted.  However, after witnessing what has gone on in America in the past two years, I think he underestimated the will of the American People.  Now more than ever we appear to me the last, best hope of man on Earth.  And I am very thankful for that fact.

Dave: Thanks for the theory, Uncle Milty.

I think the leading men now days are wimpy too, they do nothing for me.
Agreed Russell C is about the best actor we have, I try to forget about his off screen antics, but I think he’s calmed down lately. He stays home alot inbetween movies and raises his kid/s. The rest of them, I can’t think of many who don’t look pansiish. John Wayne was really great, and Charles Bronson, and for now days, maybe that guy who plays the transporter, or Daniel Craig as James Bond, or “The Rock”, he has a new one opening today, or those two guys in Boondock Saints. They have to be action hero’s, even then, you’re taking your chances, they can go wimpy pretty fast.

I’ve given up on the west too, it seems to be careening back into the bad days we rescued them from. I hope we can survive 2 more years of weenie boy. I can’t believe he has to go on TV friday and defile yet another holiday, I won’t be watching, that’s for sure. Have a great holiday weekend, Bob.

Hopefully, the New world will come to the salvation of the Old. Keeping the faith maybe difficult, but it must be done.

MT: Agreed, but in the job Description God gave me it reads ‘must at any and all times exercise cynical SOBism’ and I try to listen to the Big Guy.

The reason feminists are attracted to the sensitive versions of the male is because they are looking for wives not husbands.
As for “Old Europe” assuming we complete the U-turn we are attempting and do not ourselves succumb, just imagine what a lovely theme park Western Europe will make after we are forced to reclaim it from the Caliphate.

Adobe: People think I’m nuts [and perhaps you will think so too] when I tell them the U.S. should have plans in place to send Special Forces into Britain to save/rescue such things as the Magna Charta, HMS Victory, the Royal Family, the Crown Jewels, etc..

A VERY HAPPY THANKS GIVING TO YOU AND YOUR’S.

Bob with the possible exception of the Royal Family I agree wholeheartedly. The items you listed as well as some that don’t come to mind immediately are part of our shared heritage not merely Great Briton’s, saving that would be important. As to whether you’re nuts well I’m glad you’ve decided to follow the advice I gave you a few months ago.
